‘Tis the season to get into the holiday spirits and there are some gifts you just can’t wrap, including these three pop-up bars happening around town this winter season.
🎄 Miracle on Market | Green Building, 732 E. Market St. | Now-Dec. 31
For 5 years, this national Christmas pop-up has been decking the halls at NuLu’s Green Building.
With wrapping paper walls, the kitschy-est holiday decor + professionally developed holiday drinks served in themed glassware, this bar will have you gin-gling all the way to the North Pole. We like to start with a Snowball Old Fashioned and finish with a Nice or Naughty shot.
Glassware like the Santa Pants Mug are also available for purchase. | Photo by Miracle
🎄 Christmas Vacation Bar | The Limbo, 411 W. Chestnut St. | Dec. 1
The Limbo tiki bar is unwrapping its very Griswold holiday tribute on Wed., Dec. 1 with cocktails like Eat My Rubber, a peppermint gin drink. While it’ not on the menu, we’d love to see Aunt Bethany’s green Jell-O shot.
🎄 Abominable Bar | Paristown, 731 Brent St. | Now-Jan. 2
This winter bar in a renovated camper is a new addition to the Fête de Noël Winter Holiday Festival in Christy’s Garden. Sip Kentucky hot cocoa — with or without the Woodford Reserve — and shop at the local vendor holiday market or try to escape the ghosts of Christmas past in the scrooge escape room. We would suggest hitting the outdoor ice skating rink before the bar.

Since the first pane of glass in a double-paned window broke in the spring of 2020 at Against the Grain Brewery & Smokehouse — part of Slugger Field — a collection of mementos have been filling the empty space.
Birthday cards, dog photos, letters, and even a Pet Supplies Plus card have created a makeshift shrine, but the mystery is for what?

Editor's Pick: Okay, I’m going to spill the green beans. I’m an Indiana native + Thanksgiving in Hoosier land usually means oyster dressing, so I’m wondering is this an Indiana thing or do y’all put those sea creatures in your dressing, too? Tell us here.
